The 2nd Most Wonderful Time of the Year in New Orleans (Mardi Gras is #1)!

Holiday events are in full swing in the New Orleans Metro Area! This past weekend the Krewe of Jingle Parade rolled through Downtown New Orleans, and on the Westbank the Algiers Point Bonfire took place. Don’t fret! There are still tons of things to see and do this holiday season in the New Orleans Metro Area.
Luna Fete takes place from December 6th-9th in Lafayette Square and features an amazing display of light projections on Gallier Hall.
Running of the Santas occurs in the Warehouse District on Saturday, December 8th and is a great event for adults where participants dress up in all sorts of Santa gear and run from the “South Pole” to the “North Pole.”
The inaugural Jingle on the Boulevard will take place on December 15th at 12pm in New Orleans East! Come out and enjoy this holiday parade and check out what New Orleans East has to offer.
Festival of the Bonfires is in Lutcher on December 14th-16th. Come out and enjoy carnival rides and live entertainment. On Christmas Eve the culmination of activities occurs with the world famous Christmas Eve Bonfires!
If you’re enjoying your time in the CBD, stop by the Roosevelt Hotel and view the beautiful Christmas lights that decorate the lobby. It’s another great and free New Orleans tradition!
In Jefferson Parish take some time to visit Lafreniere Park and enjoy Christmas in the Park now running through December 30th. Every night beginning at 5pm you can take a tour of the lights by walking or driving.
Kenner Christmas Village is open through December 30th. Admission is free and you can enjoy ice skating and a biergarten!
Audubon Zoo Lights runs through December 30th and is a wonderful kid-friendly event in the evening.
Miracle on Fulton Street—Located at 510 Fulton: Come out to enjoy some “snow” and live music with the family through December 5th!
Celebration in the Oaks runs through January 1st in City Park. It’s a wonderful New Orleans tradition that turns the park into a winter wonderland of lights.
Nola Christmasfest takes place at the Convention Center and goes from December 20th through December 31st. It’s even open on Christmas Day! It’s a great family-friendly attraction that features rides, Santa, and even an indoor ice skating rink.
